Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R 2023 Price in Pakistan, Features, Specs. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s new Vehicle Identification Number decoder confirms that Kawasaki will release a 399cc Inline-Four Ninja ZX-4R model in 2023. While the VIN decoder does not reveal anything about the ZX-4R’s design, we expect it to be similar to the 249cc Ninja ZX-25R (pictured above), which is currently available in Japan and other Asian markets.
We first reported on the existence of a ZX-4R a year ago, when we discovered a Kawasaki patent for the fairing design used on the ZX-25R. The patent described how intakes built into the fairing would direct air toward the engine to provide additional cooling. While the design was used on the ZX-25R, the patent states that it is “more preferably applied to a vehicle having a four-cylinder 400 cc engine.
The VIN decoder has revealed that the ZX-4R exists and will be available in the United States in 2023. The 2023 Kawasaki VIN decoder was released on March 22 as an update to a previous version released in December. The modifications include the listings below for two models with ZX400PP and ZX400SP.

The ZX codes, according to Kawasaki’s model code structure, designate high-performance sportbike models such as the ZX-10R, ZX-6R, and Ninja H2. The 400 denotes an approximate engine displacement, while the letter after it denotes a specific model variant. According to industry standards, the “P” at the end represents the 2023 model year. The name “Ninja ZX-4R” does not appear in the VIN decoder, but the engine code confirms its commercial name.
The ZX400 should not be confused with the Ninja 400, which appears on the VIN decoder under the model codes EX400GP for the ABS version and EX400HP for the non-ABS version. More specific information is provided by the full VIN decoder.

It confirms that the ZX400 models are powered by a 499cc Inline-4 engine. The engine output is still “to be determined,” but we expect it to be significantly higher than the Ninja 400’s 36 kW (48 hp), which is only marginally more powerful than the ZX-25R’s peak output of 44 hp at 15,500 rpm. We anticipate that the ZX-4R will be available with or without ABS. Aside from that, we anticipate a chassis similar to the ZX-25R, complete with a trellis frame and inverted fork.
The ZX-25R has a single front disc brake, but it’s unclear whether the more powerful ZX-4R requires a second rotor. Today, Kawasaki announced a number of returning 2023 models, but only the ZX-6R has been confirmed as a supersport model. We believe the Ninja ZX-4R will be announced alongside the Ninja ZX-10R.
