MG Cars Prices Dropped In India. MG automobiles, famed in Pakistan for its premium SUVs, had a significant price drop in neighbouring countries – which seems impossible to imagine happening in Pakistan.
Morris Garages Motor India has reduced the prices of the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs by up to INR 1.29 lac and INR 1.37 lakh, respectively. The decision was made after the business noticed decreased sales of certain specific models. In an international context, these price revisions equate to reductions ranging from PKR 4.53 lakh to PKR 4.81 lakh.

In terms of pricing, two Hector variations, branded ‘Style Petrol MT Variant’ and ‘Shine Diesel MT Variant,’ cost INR 14.73 and INR 17.99, respectively. Meanwhile, the top variant Savvy Pro Petrol CVT has been reduced by INR 66,000 and is currently available for INR 21.73 lac. Similarly, the top model Sharp Pro Diesel MT was reduced by INR 1.21 lac and now costs INR 21.51.
The starting price of the base Hector Plus is now INR 17.50 lakh, a Rs 50,000 decrease. Meanwhile, the base diesel variant is priced at INR 19.76 lakh, representing a Rs 1.04 lakh price reduction. The Savvy Pro Petrol CVT variation, on the other hand, costs INR 22.43 lakh, while the highest-end diesel trim costs INR 22.21 lakh (ex-showroom).
Engine:
In terms of power, the MG Hector and Hector Plus SUVs had two engine options:
- 5L turbo-petrol engine capable of producing 141 horsepower and 250 Nm torque
- 0L diesel engine with 168 horsepower and 350 Newton meters of torque.
Both of these vehicles have a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT gearbox.
The MG Hector used to be a top seller in the Indian market. However, following a massive renovation earlier this year that included various new features to an already extensive list of amenities, the Hector’s price increased significantly, negatively impacting sales. With this significant price cut, MG hopes to revive lost sales momentum and reestablish market competitiveness.
