Reasons for the Price Increase
The company stated that these are difficult times for Pakistan in general and the car industry in particular. “The main source of concern is rising operational costs,” according to the statement.
MG has also delivered 10,000 units to date, according to the statement. Despite the fact that costs have risen as a result of:
- Depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar
- Due to post-pandemic congestion, sea freight has increased.
- Fuel price increases have resulted in an increase in local freight.
- Due to a global scarcity, chip prices have risen.
Earlier Price Hike:
MG Pakistan announced the MG HS Exclusive in May 2021, with new features such as:
- Instrumental Panel in Digital Format
- Speedometer with digital display
- Monogrammed Trophy
- Exterior Color: New Silver
The business boosted the price of HS by Rs 300,000 as a result of these modifications, bringing it to Rs5,749,000 from Rs 5,449,000. Previously, all remaining automobile firms raised prices for the same reasons described above. This fresh round of price hikes has undoubtedly impacted the average consumer who has worked hard to acquire a new vehicle.
These price increases can be attributed to COVID-19’s aftershocks, as car markets around the world are still feeling the effects of the pandemic. What are your thoughts on the price hike? Is this reasonable? Let us know what you think in the comments area.
