Suzuki Alto 9th Gen “Officially” Revealed. Alto’s next generation is finally arrived… for the Japanese market. Suzuki has kept the 9th generation vehicle under wraps, releasing no details about its specifications or features. So while we wait for information on the entire package, we can all have a closer look at the car. In Japan, the 9th generation Suzuki Alto will replace the 8th generation vehicle (which has been on the market since 2014). In the first quarter of 2022, the car will be available in its home market.
Suzuki Alto 9th Gen
Suzuki was denied the opportunity to show off its latest innovation. Someone released the new Alto’s brochure online a few weeks ago. And it was all over the place in a matter of minutes. Inside and exterior, we got to glimpse what the new generation Alto will look like. The official photos were not as entertaining as the leaked ones, but they did validate what we had already seen.
Dimensions:
The new Alto is a few inches longer and taller than the previous model. The new Alto has a height of 1525 mm, which is 50 mm taller than the previous model. It measures 3395 mm in length and 1475 mm in width.
Exterior:
Two adjectives to describe the new Alto’s appearance: old-school and boxy. At the front, the car has newer-looking dual-beam projector headlights. The taillights remain unchanged except that they are now positioned upright on the sides of the trunk. Between the two headlights, there’s a chrome bar, a modest front grille, larger window windows, pull-up door handles and 14-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Interior:
Almost every aspect of the inside has been redone by Suzuki. The four-seater cabin features a new dashboard layout, a 7-inch touchscreen entertainment system, vertically oriented air vents, a semi-digital instrument console, manual air conditioning, a multi-function steering wheel with audio controls, and additional storage compartments.
Safety:
Autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and high-beam assist are among the latest generation of Alto’s safety features.
Engine:
The new Suzuki Alto 2022 is expected to be one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the market. The base model will be powered by a newly built in-line 3-cylinder naturally aspirated 660cc petrol engine, with mild hybrid technology in higher trim levels.
That’s all we know about the Japanese market’s upcoming 9th generation Alto. In Pakistan, the Suzuki Alto 8th generation, which debuted in 2019, has largely taken over the low-cost automobile market. There’s no way the new generation Alto will be available before 2025 or such.
